Laura Piper
Laura Piper works in communications for the Federal government. She has a great love of the arts in general and is delighted to be working alongside her husband Timothy as the Co-Founder and Choir Manager of Chorale Lyrica.
Laura has been involved in the arts for most of her life. As a teenager, she learned the alto saxophone and began singing in a choir. She has continued singing in various capacities ever since.
She studied many forms of dance and taught ballroom for a number of years. She has a degree in photography and spent much of her teens and twenties working for photography studios, taking pictures at weddings and for dance studios.
Laura is also a writer. Among other things, she wrote the libretto to a musical called Bye Bye Bytown. Her husband Timothy wrote the music and the show was produced at both Centrepointe Theatre and the Ottawa Little Theatre. Laura was the Co-director of both shows.
Laura loves working with young people and has taught children in many different capacities over the years, including in theatre, music, history, science, French literature, etc.
Laura brings her enthusiasm for music and the arts to Chorale Lyrica as a choir manager who understands the needs of parents (Laura and Tim have four children of their own), the need to foster excellent musical education in young children, and the difficult balancing act that families go through juggling their many activities. As a result, Chorale Lyrica strives to maintain an active performance schedule while always keeping in mind the limits of families and what is reasonable.
